The Parish Hall
The
Parish Hall was built in 1915 to provide a venue for church and community use.
Many of the older members of the community can still remember the dances which
used to be held here. Today, the hall is still in demand from community groups
and organisations. At the present time the hall is used by the Emmanuel
Playgroup, The Scarborough Orchestral Society for its rehearsals, for Sequence
Dances and for the Parish Tea Room and Shop (open every Wednesday morning).
The hall has a public Entertainment Licence and a Performing Rights Society Licence. Recent work in the hall has included:
• installation of fire doors and equipment to comply with the current British Fire safety standards
• the refurbishment of the kitchen
• the improvement of the hall grounds
• the systematic replacement of the windows with double glazed units
• kitchen and toilet facilities
•
small meeting room 5.2m x 3.96m (17ft x 13ft)
•
